The YWCA of the Greater Triangle, Inc., located in Raleigh, NC, is accepting applications for an open Wellness Outreach Specialist position. The mission of the YWCA is to eliminate racism and empower women. The Wellness Department strives to fulfill this mission through community health outreach programs that identify and address community health disparities.

Our wellness programs aim to reduce health disparities among minority populations and address current health needs identified within our community. The Outreach Specialist will primarily be responsible for program promotion and recruitment of at-risk women in Wake, Johnston, and Franklin Counties. Current programs include breast cancer prevention, HIV/AIDS prevention, and heart disease prevention. The Outreach Specialist will work closely with the Wellness Program Specialist to assist her with community health education presentations and program operations. Responsibilities include: Community outreach, grassroots recruitment, implementation and support of wellness promotion and disease prevention services for low-resource women and communities. Full-time, salaried position.
Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education, human services or related field, or Associates Degree and equivalent work experience. Experience with community health promotion, program participant recruitment, and fluency in Spanish preferred. Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation required.
