The North Carolina Statewide Push for Excellence, Engagement, and Delivery (NC SPEED) is administered by UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. This new initiative focuses on building capacity in communities across our state to engage in cancer research and to directly benefit from the dissemination of cancer research findings. Its essential purpose is to increase knowledge about and participation in cancer research opportunities across higher education, health care, public health and community organizations.

NC SPEED seeks a Research Coordinator to serve as the primary liaison between university investigators and research partners across North Carolina. The Research Coordinator supervises 3-5 full-time social research assistants based in Wilmington, Greenville, and Asheville. Plans include expanding NC SPEED regional offices to additional NC regions. Responsibilities: - Oversee daily administration and coordination of NC SPEED activities; - Develop and implement systems for sharing information and planning research, statewide; - Supervise and coordinate regional staff; - Participate in project development and implementation - Assist in developing and delivering presentations about NC SPEED for research, as well as professional, advocacy, and community audiences. This position requires in-state travel.
This position requires a Masters degree and an ability to apply basic knowledge about clinical, behavioral and/or communications interventions for cancer prevention and control. Verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse research and community partners are essential.
