Coordinate programs that involve screening, educating, referring, and following-up on citizens in the clinical, community, school, and business settings. Programs focus on topics including but not limited to, maternal health, child health, environmental health, communicable disease, bioterrorism, birth control, and STD and HIV prevention/education and worksite wellness. Responsible for county health assessment, Healthy Carolinians Taskforce and all subcommittees, and volunteer program. Normal work schedule is M-F with some early morning, evening, and weekend work required.
Master's degree in public health education, or in public health with a major in public health education; or graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in health education and two years of experience in public health education; or graduation from a four-year college or university and three years of experience in public health education; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Certified transcripts required. Strong health education background, research/marketing experience, nutritional background as related to health promotion and life style changes, grant writing experience and professional management skills. The candidate also needs to have outstanding team building skills and the willingness to work with other community partnerships. The ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
