Description of Work:
This position serves as the agency’s health education program manager. The employee provides program direction, leadership, and supervision to other staff assigned to this program area. The position provides consultative and administrative work in planning, organizing, and implementing health education programs throughout the agency, schools, and community. The employee serves as the agency’s grant writer and manages grant activities and projects. Employee provides health promotion guidance, coordinates the Occupational Health Program, coordinates health programs with Healthy Carolinians, Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Coalition, Rockingham County Schools, and various other community groups. Position serves as the media contact and prepares news releases. Conducts workshops, meetings, and develops training programs for professional and community groups. Employee must have excellent organizational skills and communication skills, both oral and written. Experienced computer skills and utilization will be required in this position.

Candidate Requirements:
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: A master's degree in public health education or in public health with a major in public health education; or graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in health education and two years experience in public health education or a related field; or graduation from a four-year college or university and three years experience in public health education; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. CHES preferred.
