Principal Investigator is seeking a full-time Intervention Coordinator (IC) to work on a 5 year, NHLBI funded worksite-based, weight loss intervention study. The IC will join a productive, fast-paced, interdisciplinary WAY to Health research team that will study the effects of incentive and web-based weight loss programs on employee weight, physical activity and nutritional habits at 12 colleges and universities across North Carolina. The research team will also investigate the effects of these programs on the campus-wide social/ physical environment at all participating colleges and universities. The IC will serve as a liaison between the science team and colleges and universities on all aspects of the study. Duties will include, but are not limited to: • Building rapport with campus contacts • Conducting on-site weigh-in events • Developing materials for and conducting focus groups and interviews • Helping to organize, support and offer technical assistance to Employee Wellness Committees at each campus • Assisting with training of all data collection staff

Candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact comfortably and clearly with college and university personnel from different departments and interests. Other qualifications include: excellent written and verbal communication skills, positive work ethic, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines, and careful attention to detail. Candidate should have experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis. Experience with planning, development, and dissemination of intervention programs is strongly preferred. Minimum of a B.A. or B.S. in public health, health education, nutrition, exercise physiology, sociology, behavioral science, psychology, or related social science. Master’s degree preferred. Travel throughout North Carolina will be involved.
