Wilmington Health Access for Teens (WHAT) is a teen health clinic located in Wilmington, NC. Clinical services as well as community outreach services are provided.

The Advocacy Coordinator works under the supervision of the Wilmington Health Access for Teens Executive Director and the Question Why “QY” Youth Empowerment Program Director. The Question Why program is funded by the Health and Wellness Trust Fund (HWTF) of North Carolina. This position will develop community partnerships and collaborations in areas not funded by HWTF for teen tobacco use prevention. The purpose of this role is to plan, implement, and evaluate approved tobacco prevention services and resources targeting specific areas in rural Eastern NC. This role will enhance and create partnerships throughout Eastern NC. He/she performs other duties as assigned. Directions: Send an attached 1-page cover letter with a separately attached results-based resume in the same email with subject title Advocacy Coordinator Cover Letter and Resume to: questionwhy123@gmail.com Education: Bachelors degree, but preferably Masters Degree In Health Education, Community Health or related wellness field. Licensure/Certifications: None Required. Certified Health Educator Specialist is preferred. Experience: Two years experience in Teen Tobacco Use Prevention work, partnership development, and/or project management. 1. Develop creative strategies and specific activities to develop partnerships in specifically targeted areas in Eastern NC. Specific counties served: Johnston, Wilson, Pitt, Wayne, Lenoir, Sampson, Jones, Carteret, Bladen, Onslow, & Columbus 2. Track results and document services provided to Eastern NC contacts 3. Participate in and/or plan regional and statewide events, conference calls, in-person meetings, and conferences. 4. Increase professional skills and standards Results Targets: 1. Develop at least 3 new partnerships annually in specifically targeted Eastern NC counties. 2. Every year, create and maintain 3 TRU youth groups in targeted Eastern NC counties.
